5 Years of the "Good" Life

5 Years of the "Good" Life

See what I did there?? (I crack myself up! I hope I never get tired of the “Good” puns)

5 YEARS AGO I became a Good! I married Joel, my best friend. The ultimate love of my life, the hottest guy I’ve ever seen, my boo thang, the father to this little (okay not-so-little) alien growing in me.

There are so many things to love about being married to Joel. He makes me laugh EVERY day. His smile is so contagious and sweet, I love getting to witness it everyday of my life. His sweet, kind heart is one to admire. He really is going to make the BEST dad!! And seriously, he is NOT bad on the eyes, right?! Don’t get me wrong, he drives my shit CRAZY on the daily, too. But I genuinely can’t imagine a better love to get to have with someone. I love getting to share my life with Joel, and feel so lucky to get to do so.

5 years have seen SO MANY ADVENTURES! Living in soooooo many different places, seeing some pretty incredible things. This past year has especially been one for the books as we’ve been preparing for our Vernon. It’s definitely been a TOUGH one. But a good one nonetheless. This year has really reminded us to be grateful through the hard things, the tough crap. Reminded us that through it all, we still are truly #blessed. We have the most incredible, loving families. Two of the sweetest pups/companions humans could ask for. A roof over our heads, food in our fridge, money to pay our bills. Friends that care for us so dearly. It’s easy to take things like that for granted, but this year as we’ve done more “adult-ing” than any other year of our marriage, those things have been so prevalent and we have really been able to remember to be extra grateful for those things.

Every year on our anniversary I make Joel a “Glimpse at Year —” and it’s always a fun little thing to do, a reminder of the good things from that year in marriage. It’s just a one page graphic where I add things about our year, like adventures we went on, shows we watched, restaurants we loved, what Joel’s favorite meal I made was, things like that. We also read our vows to each other which always pulls on my heart strings. It’s such a good reminder of our married life beginning, the people we were then, and the love we felt on that special day when we became husband and wife. Plus it usually makes us giggle. Do you have any anniversary traditions with your spouse/significant other??

ANYWAYS. I wanted to do a little wedding recap in honor of this “milestone” anniversary!! Our wedding was RIDICULOUS and EVERYTHING I ever wanted it to be!! My friends and family (HUGE shoutout to my Momma) really pulled it off and I still to this day love going through our wedding pics to remember every perfect detail. Our wedding was even featured on The Knot and WeddingWire!!

Enjoy some of my favorite photos below! (our photographer was Kari Bowman of KariMe Photography!)

My Dad and I obviously had to show off on the dance floor!
